There are many definitions of small, medium, and large businesses. A small business can be defined as:

A business with less than 100 Employees is a small business

It may be 1, 10, 99, or any number between 1- 99.

Whether you are working individually or in a small team and selling something or providing services, you will have to engage with a large number of customers and respond to them. If you do it manually, it will be a difficult task, especially in a short time span.

WhatsApp Business App can be a relief in such situations

WhatsApp Business App is a powerful tool that can help small and medium businesses reach new customers, improve customer service, and grow their businesses

it has over 2 billion users worldwide, so you can reach a lot of potential customers with this tool.

In this post, I will share how WhatsApp business is helpful for every person who is involved in or is a part of small to medium-level business activities.

We can do the following two types of activities in the WhatsApp Business App:
  • Promotional: Tools to promote our business or products e.g. running ads.
  • Management: Features that help to create engaging content, organize messages, and automate tasks e.g. sending greetings automatically, etc.

Let's see them in some detail.

Management:

First of all, tap or click on the "store" icon at the very left side of the top menu in the WhatsApp business app.

1. Business Profile

You can set your business profile. This allows you to add the following things to your profile

  • Profile Photo
  • Cover Image
  • Title of the business
  • Description of your business
  • Set categories in which your business or service lay
  • Location or City
  • Whole week open/close schedule
  • Email and mobile numbers
  • Website
  • About

2. Quick reply

Suppose you have a pizza shop with eight different sizes and prices, and someone asks about the prices. You will have to type all 8 sizes and then price against each like below (Note: prices are just assumed)

Imagine how much time it would take if you were asked by many people at the same time. WhatsApp Business allows you to set pre-typed answers to frequently asked questions and fire them by just typing two or three characters followed by a slash (/)..

In the "quick replies" section, you can set a message with a shortcut. For example, we can set the above price list with the shortcut "allpri" (All prices). After that, when replying to someone, we just have to type "/allpri", the already-added message will automatically pop up. By tapping on it, it will be sent to the addressee.

3. Greeting and away messages

WhatsApp Business allows you to set greeting messages to welcome new users/customers automatically. Every time a new contact messages you or if a returning contact messages you after 15 days, a greeting message will be replied to them automatically.

Another feature called "Away message" works almost in the same way. It reply message to everyone automatically, whenever you are busy or not available to talk or reply. To work it out, you have to enable the option of "send away message". You can set and customize your "away message".

4. Labels

Labeling messages is a small and smart feature in the WhatsApp Business app. There are five built-in labels, and you can create more. Labels can be used as reminders for many actions. For example, if someone says they will send you a payment next Monday, you can tap and hold the message and set a label of "Pending Payments." You can manage and see all labeled messages in the "Labels" section.

5. Catalog

Catalog is one of the core and powerful tools of the app. It allows you to create a list of products you have to sell. You can add images, title, price, and description of each product. All products or items can be organized into different categories referred to as 'collections'. You can create unlimited collections and items in the catalog section.

6. Performance view

Performance feature gave access to view the number of times people view your catalog. It also provides the number of profile views. Although may be a bit less than the actual views, however, it helps to get an idea of how your business is performing well.

7. Create and manage ads

You may be well-known for advertising on Facebook and Instagram apps. The company also makes it easy to create and manage ads through Whatsapp App. Now you can create ads through Whatsapp (usually carousel ads) and see how your ads are performing.

8. Integrate facebook and instrgram account

Facebook page and Instagram accounts can also be attached to WhatsApp. It has the following benefits:

  • By linking accounts, your Facebook and Instagram followers will see a button to contact you on WhatsApp. This makes it easy for people to get in touch with you.
